Rotating Superstructure

Rotating Superstructure is an independent rock band based out of Jackson, Wyoming. All members of RSS were born and raised in Jackson Hole. Victor Pokorny (guitar, vocals and keyboards) and Bridger Huhn (bass) first met as toddlers, and began playing music together at age thirteen. Meanwhile, Kyle Fleming (guitar) and his brother Shawn Fleming (drums, vocals), were playing in numerous groups around the Jackson area. When Kyle went off to college, Shawn joined Victor and Bridger, and the threesome earned an opening spot for Los Lonely Boys. When Kyle returned from school, the foursome started Rotating Superstructure. While performing at a local art fair, producer David Halliday (Lone Peak Sound and Galactic) was impressed by their original material and sound, and offered them a chance to record an album. Soon after the offer, Rotating Superstructure’s debut album “Bouncy Castle” (a collection of 10 songs the group wrote when they were only fifteen and sixteen years old) hit stores.

Rotating Superstructure has recently been found playing heavily in the Jackson Hole area while they write for their new album. This will be available July 2010 and will be a collection of songs that dive more in depth of how the band is influenced. They will be recording this project in award winning band Death Cab for Cutie’s new studio in Seattle. The sound of these new songs is a lot different than the straight ahead indie rock album Bouncy Castle. Victor’s appreciation for folk music and Kyle’s “wall of sound” experimental style of guitar playing have really peaked through on these new tracks, as well as Bridger and Shawn’s eclectic approach to groove as a rhythm section. Each member has used their unique styles of playing to create a very original sounding project.
